1920s Pair of French Wall
Appliques with Glass Leaves
E14 light bulb fittings
A charming pair of French electric wall appliques dating to the 1920s.
These appliques make a striking decorative accent, whether placed in a hallway, bedroom, or flanking a mirror. They are not only functional lighting but also sculptural wall art, carrying with them the romance and elegance of interwar France.
Each sconce is crafted on a gilded wrought iron base, designed in the form of a flowering branch tied with a decorative bow. The leaves are made of hand-moulded green glass, catching and reflecting the light beautifully, while the delicate blossoms are set with clear glass petals around a detailed brass centre.
Originally made in France during the Art Deco period, these appliques blend naturalistic motifs with refined craftsmanship — a hallmark of French decorative arts of the early 20th century. Both pieces retain their original faux-candle light holders, adding to their authentic period charm.
